Welcome to the BLOG!

This is the blog record of the year-long adventures of me and Maureen over 5 continents (and 1 sub-continent). The impetus of the trip was my 40th birthday and impending mid-life crisis, and I dragged Mau along into my madness. The horror. The horror. Shhhhhhhh!

We have already had our first fight while trying to set up the template for this blog and I was very close to calling the whole trip OFF. Breathe. Everything's gonna be alright.

Obviously, this is my (Don) voice but things may not be so clear with future posts so we will start things off with Don: or Mau: or some other signifier, and all of you are welcome to post your reactions, thoughts, mundane experiences in your lame "oh, I have to go to work everyday" world. Just kidding. Post anything you feel. Feel me?

Mau: so let's get this party started! Although Don had this crisis tour planned well before we met, I feel to be included in this adventure is very exciting! Since we met Don and I have taken off on some kind of trip or weekend away almost every month. So, it seems a natural progression to travel for a year together. Also, it's a perfect time for transition. Some of you who know me know I've recently changed careers and finished my Masters in nursing. So before taking a new position as a nurse practitioner this seemed like the best time to live beyond the borders...

Yeah, until we leave in May I should be at working picking up the extra overtime but tomorrow I don't have to work so...I'll be downtown purchasing the tickets for our flights and we'll be posting the flight dates for those who may be interested in joining us along the way.
