Street Fair in Cuenca, Ecuador

Street Fair in Cuenca, Ecuador

Our favorite thing about Cuenca was the dearth of musica folklorica (aka panflute bands). In one of Mau`s spanish class fieldtrips they visited a mercado where curanderos (folk healers) employed egg and guinea pig scanners to diagnose illness and demonic possession, in the way that western medicine uses CT and MRI scans.

egg and guinea pig scanners?.....hmmm, i'm picturing cracking the eggs and reading the shells like tea leaves and/or the guinea pig poop? Does everyone get the scanning, or is it just for serious cases like for CT and MRIs. Are you going to be able to bring back some these skills for your practices? Becuase I hear Oregon is a very liberal place.
