Yes, I'm riding a girls bike . . .
Here's Don Ron Tom riding a girls bike through the Parque Natural, an estuary on the Rio de la Plata and the southeast edge of BsAs. It also borders Puerto Madero, a bustling port in the 19th and early 20 centuries, now a fancy-shmancy latte sipping, arte gallery browsing, up-scale restaurant kinda barrio.
Don acquired his new nickname after months of confusion in Ecuador, Peru, and Argentina. In Latin America, Don usually proceeds another name, as in "don Corleone", sometime Don was confused with Tom or Ron and people asked if there wasn't more to the name.
Don. Ron? No, Don. Don Tom? No, Don. Ron Tom? Hmmmmm, Don.
Don Ron Tom? Si . . . soy yo, Don Ron Tom. Perfecto.
And so it evolved. And you can hear the Solo Empanadas delivery boys calling out to "Don-Ron-Tom" from the street corner near our apartment. Really. En serio.
